‘OH . SAY . CAN . YOU . SEE’
July 4, 2011
Our first July 4th Celebration in 2 years…..American Style!
This is one of the doors just down from our stateroom that was decorated for the big event.  They did a great job don’t ya think!

As we were going to breakfast on the 12th deck, we found the crew doing last minute decorating on lots of fun places!  With being at sea today, we knew we would not be able to have fireworks……the crew are making it as festive as they can for us AMERICANS!

Breakfast was actually pretty good today…..had some of my FAVORITES!  I love the OATMEAL smothered with brown sugar and nuts (in this case, pecans!) along with CRISPY BACON!!!  We must be back in AMERICA!!  Could not get good crispy bacon in Finland…unless I made it.

We ‘found’ the cutest little KIDS CAFÉ area to eat our breakfast in…..where we could actually find seats!  It was totally geared for children……PERFECT!

And the kids ate so well this morning……especially Crew!  He ate really, really well!

After breakfast I headed up to the SPA to enjoy my first PEDICURE since we left to go to Finland in spring of 2009!  Oh, I needed that badly!  It was so nice to be able to have that again!

To celebrate AMERICA’S birthday, there was a COOKOUT provided for an option for LUNCH!!  Wayne and I decided to have that……..CORN ON THE COB, BAR-B-QUE CHICKEN, potato salad, baked beans, hamburgers, hot dogs, the works!!  Although it was a bit RAINY outside, we took our food inside to eat it!

Doesn’t that CORN ON THE COB look good!!  It actually was GOOD!

The dessert not only looked great but it was DELICIOUS!  Somebody did a great job of making this cake for our celebration!  Kiitos Paljon…..

Late in the afternoon we began our journey in the INLAND PASSAGE!  It was good to see land on either side....although it was not the best weather, we could still see it.

We had dinner tonight, again, in the SUMMER PALACE, a Russian influenced restaurant on board.  Very nice place.

We asked for tables at the back of the boat tonight.....and were lucky enough to get them.

This is always one of my favorite shots from a boat.......something very soothing about it.

The SHOW tonight was a great one......'OH WHAT A NIGHT'.  Some of the great oldie but goodies!

Hung around after the show and had a little FOTO OP with the singers.

Back in the room.....yup.....it must be a CRUISE with our cute little animals!  AND we gain an hour tonight.  AND the days are getting longer up north....just like in Finland!  Love that.....AND the cooler weather.  AAHHHH!!!

See ya tomorrow!  Night-night.........
